The Yemeni Resistance: A Battle Important for the Whole World

On March 15, 2025, the United States began the next stage of its aggression against Yemen. Air and missile strikes by the US Air Force and Navy have again hit civilian targets. These scenes of barbaric attack were another act of the bloody tragedy that the United States provoked in Western Asia.

Yemen has long been a vivid symbol of resistance. The sincere and passionate support of the Yemenis for the national liberation struggle in Palestine has become the best example of true honesty and heroism. The Ansar Allah movement has led a just and truly great battle against Western imperialism, fighting for the independence of Yemen and the freedom of its people.

From a historical and geographical point of view, Yemen’s importance is very significant. Let’s look back at the past and remember what an outstanding role this country has played in the history of the entire human civilization.

Since ancient times, numerous kingdoms have existed and developed in Yemen: Awsan, Saba, Himyar. Battles, merchant caravans, and the founding of new cities took place here. Already in the Middle Ages, the territory of modern Yemen was characterized by successful economic development. We can recall that in those years, the global coffee trade was directly dependent on Yemen and local producers. Merchants and ambassadors from all over Western Asia and India came to the city of Sanaa, which was an important trading center.

Yemen has a strategic location right next to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. It is a country with an ancient history and outstanding culture, located in a place where the waves of the sea stretch between the Arabian Peninsula and the Horn of Africa. Here, Resistance is the spirit of the generations who fought for Yemen’s independence against the British colonialists back in the 20th century.

Bukhaiti: Trump or Biden, Yemen’s course of action remains unchanged

And now, right before our eyes, Yemen is writing a new chapter in its history. In difficult geopolitical times, Yemen resolutely supported Palestine and stood at the forefront of the struggle against the American unipolar dictatorship.

The people of Yemen presented their own security formula, their new equation, which completely negated American hegemonic plans in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Yemeni ballistic missiles and drones have shown the US Navy that the era of American domination of the seas is over.

We do not see anything new in the behavior and actions of the United States. This is also arrogance, aggressiveness, and the desire to spread their destructive expansion everywhere. American imperialism remains the same, no matter how the actors on its political scene change.

Therefore, the steadfast Yemeni Resistance is a movement of anti-imperialist, anti-colonial and national liberation struggle. By defending itself, Yemen protects all oppressed peoples. We are seeing part of a global battle off the coast of Yemen, and its outcome is of tremendous importance.

The real power is not aircraft carriers and fighter jets. It’s not money or gold. The real power is truth, justice, and an idea. These are the principles that have been formed over the centuries and, in difficult times, helped all those who firmly and confidently carried the banner of their struggle to win. The people of Yemen have their own idea and principles: heroism, self-sacrifice, courage, and willingness to fight for their Homeland and faith. This makes them invincible. This gives them the ability to fight against American aggression and win over it.

At the forefront of this battle against Western imperialism are the Ansar Allah movement and its brave leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. For many years, the Yemeni Resistance has been defending its people and country, being a real Sword of Justice that cuts through the hostile plans of foreign aggressors. For centuries, Yemen has been a land of people who love freedom and know how to stand up for themselves. And now, this country is a beacon of hope for the entire multipolar world.

It doesn’t matter where we are geographically. We can be from different countries, peoples, and cultures. But what unites us is that our hearts beat in unison with the hearts of Yemenis and Palestinians. By supporting them, including on the information front, we support the global struggle for multipolarity, justice, and anti-colonialism.

While you certainly don't "have to hand it to the nazis," I must admit that it's way easier to show people that the Trump regime's attempts to target anti-genocide protestors using "War on Terror" logic will lead to them targeting all protestors using that same logic, when they just blurt that part out loud:

DHS Official Explicitly Equates Protest to Terrorism in 'Stunning' Interview

"The Trump administration has accused Khalil, who is of Palestinian descent, of leading "activities aligned to Hamas" and protests where pro-Hamas propaganda was distributed, but officials have provided no evidence that he's provided support to Hamas or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the U.S. government.

A White House official this week told The Free Press that Khalil is not being accused of breaking any laws, but is rather "a threat to the foreign policy and national security interests of the United States," and Edgar's comments to Martin offered further evidence evidence that DHS is working to deport Khalil without accusing him of a crime.

"He is coming in to basically be a student that is not going to be supporting terrorism," said Edgar. "So, the issue is he was let into the country on this visa. He has been promoting this antisemitism activity at the university. And at this point, the State Department has revoked his visa for supporting a terrorist type organization."

This story comes out of an interview with Troy Edgar (Trump's deputy homeland security secretary) by NPR's Michel Martin; thus it's important to note that while Edgar isn't making a legal argument here, he is absolutely working the court of public opinion to sway your perception about the legality of Trump's unlawful arrest, detainment, and ongoing attempts to deport a former Columbia University student green card holder, legally residing in the country with his wife (who is an American citizen), for protesting a genocide (by Israel) in Gaza, facilitated by both the current, and prior US administrations.

With that in mind, the first thing I'd like to point out is the bizarre, manipulative, and legally irrelevant language Edgar uses here. From a technical standpoint, the phrase "activities aligned with Hamas" is wholly unrelated to any law on the books in America, even our nightmare War on Terror era anti-terrorism laws, while simultaneously covering such a broad spectrum of activities that untold millions of Americans could potentially be "engaging in activities aligned with Hamas" - if for example, as in Khalil's case, you've advocated for ending Israel's genocide in Gaza, or the US government's arm shipments to Israel that make it possible, you've technically engaged in "activities aligned with Hamas," who also want the genocide and arms shipments to end. Does anyone, including Troy Edgar know what "a terrorist type organization" means? You won't find a single paragraph in US law that discusses prohibitions against supporting "a terrorist *type* organization" and this is really just a way for Edgar to say Khalil is working for "terrorists" without exposing himself to liability for false accusations; it's a poison phrase to turn public opinion against the accused, and in favor of the Trump administration's unlawful and quite frankly fascist actions. This is of course setting aside that Edgar, much like the rest of the Trump regime, continues to use the War on Terror legal language of "supporting a terrorist organization" (typically financially, materially, or logistically) to describe protesting a genocide; a stretch that also has no basis in American law that I'm aware of.

Additionally of course, there's the bombshell this article is mostly based around to consider; a US deputy homeland security secretary just went on public radio and argued that (legally nebulous) "pro-Palestine activity" and even just protesting in general, is terrorism. While many disingenuous bootlickers will try to parse Edgar's words here, he was given plenty of opportunities to answer questions about what "terrorist" activities the government was alleging Khalil engaged in, and Troy continually repeated the phrases "pro-Palestinian activity" and "protesting." Furthermore given that the entire Trump administration keeps making this "mistake" over and over again, it seems pretty reasonable to assume that at least from a propaganda perspective this is the regime's official position on supporting Palestinians and protesting in general.

Folks, can you think of any reason why an increasingly unpopular fascist administration presiding over the rapid impoverishment of the US labor class, and working with Israel to ethnically cleanse Gaza, would want to declare "pro-Palestinian activity" and "protesting" to be terrorist activity? Might it be because they expect a lot of Americans to start getting interested in Palestinians and protesting?

Common Dreams · DHS Official Explicitly Equates Protest to Terrorism in 'Stunning' Interview | Common DreamsDHS official Troy Edgar failed to provide evidence for the arrest of former Columbia student Mahmoud Khalil. Resistance Factions Condemn US Aggression Against Yemen

Resistance factions released statements condemning the US aggression targeting Yemen due to its solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance. Below we publish a few statements:

Hezbollah:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Statement Issued by Hezbollah on the American-British Aggression Against Yemen

Hezbollah condemns the blatant American-British aggression against dear Yemen, which targeted residential neighborhoods in the capital, Sanaa, and several provinces, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of innocent civilians. This aggression is a desperate attempt to deter the steadfast Yemeni people from continuing their heroic support for the Palestinian people and their ongoing pressure to lift the unjust siege on Gaza and allow the entry of humanitarian aid and relief.

The targeting of civilians and vital facilities in Yemen once again reveals the true and ugly face of the American administration, which practices terrorism and bullying against nations that oppose its hegemonic policies in the region and the world. This barbaric attack constitutes a war crime and a blatant violation of international laws and norms. It aligns with the “israeli” aggression—backed by the United States—against Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and the region.

The steadfast Yemeni people, who have sacrificed their martyrs’ blood in epic battles to support the Palestinian cause and stand with besieged Gaza, will not retreat in the face of this cowardly aggression. With their wise and courageous leadership, they will continue their honorable role in defending the causes of the nation. This aggression will only strengthen their determination and steadfastness despite the ongoing oppressive siege.

We in Hezbollah reaffirm our full solidarity with dear and brave Yemen, its leadership, and its people. We call on all free nations of the world and all resistance forces in our region and beyond to unite and stand together against the American-zionist project that targets the countries and peoples of our nation. We also urge raising voices loud against the Arab and international silence and the failure of international institutions that have surrendered to the oppressive American administration.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:

The Popular Front condemns the brutal American aggression against Yemen and affirms that Yemen will remain a thorn in the throat of the aggressors.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine strongly condemns the large-scale American aggression against Yemen, affirming that it is an extension of the war crimes and genocide practiced by imperialism and zionism against our Arab peoples.

We express our full solidarity with our brothers in Yemen, extend our condolences to the martyrs who have fallen in this unjust aggression, and wish a speedy recovery to the heroic wounded. We affirm that the blood of these martyrs will remain a beacon of resilience and resistance, and it will not be in vain; rather, it will strengthen Yemen’s determination to confront aggression.

This barbaric aggression will not succeed in breaking the will of the free Yemeni people, who have never hesitated to support Palestine and have embraced the cause of Gaza despite the siege and aggression they themselves face.

He who stands with Yemen stands with Palestine and with the Arab right in confronting colonial and hegemonic projects, while he who abandons Yemen today is abandoning Palestine and all the causes of the nation.

We affirm that Yemen, which has been on the frontlines defending Arab dignity, will neither be defeated nor raise the white flag. It will remain a thorn in the throat of the aggressors.

We call on the masses of the nation and the free people of the world to take to the streets in support of Yemen, to reject this brutal aggression, and to emphasize that resistance is the only inevitable choice to thwart the aggressors’ plans, as the will of the people cannot be subdued by planes and missiles.

Glory to steadfast Yemen, victory to the resistance, and shame and disgrace to the American and zionist invaders and their collaborators.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

We in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) strongly condemn the criminal American-British air aggression that targeted a residential neighborhood in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. We consider it a blatant violation of international law and an attack on the sovereignty and stability of our brotherly Yemen.

We express our full solidarity with Yemen and the Yemeni people, and we highly value their blessed efforts in supporting the steadfastness of our Palestinian people in Gaza as they face a genocidal war that shames humanity.

Popular Resistance Committees:
We condemn the criminal American aggression against the Arab Republic of Yemen, which comes as part of the United States’ alignment with and defense of the zionist entity.

The American aggression against our brotherly Yemen is a response to the courageous and wise Arab stance of the Yemeni people and leadership in supporting and backing the Palestinian people in their confrontation with the zionist genocide and blockade, which has been imposed on our people in Gaza for 18 months with the support of successive criminal American administrations.

This American aggression will not succeed in breaking the strong and steadfast will of the Yemeni people in confronting the forces of zionist-American tyranny and arrogance. Yemen and its courageous, sincere leadership will remain a symbol of honor, chivalry, and true Arab-Islamic authenticity.

We pray for the souls of the heroic martyrs of Yemen, the land of dignity and pride, and we salute the Yemeni people and their principled leadership. We affirm that victory will be on Yemen’s side, as its resilience, steadfastness, and unwavering stance reflect the pulse of the entire nation.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine strongly condemns the blatant American aggression against Yemen, which constitutes a brazen act of support for the zionist entity and its crimes against our Palestinian people and the peoples of the region, particularly in Syria and Lebanon. This hostile attack comes in the context of protecting the zionist entity and targeting all those who stand with our Palestinian people in confronting the brutal crimes of the occupation.

We affirm our pride in Yemen’s honorable stance, which has embodied a genuine Arab and Islamic position in supporting Gaza and backing the Palestinian people and their resistance. We extend our salute to the Yemeni people and leadership for their steadfastness in the face of this colonial assault.

Indeed, it is jihad of victory or martyrdom.

Yemen Retaliates as US Regime Massacres Civilians to Assist Gaza Genocide

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced Monday that they had successfully targeted the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S Truman for the second time within hours, in addition to thwarting a planned US airstrike on Yemen.

The YAF confirmed, in a statement delivered by its spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, that the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman was targeted for the second time in 24 hours in the northern Red Sea, “with a number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones in an engagement that lasted for several hours.”

Saree described how the YAF succeeded in thwarting a hostile attack that the enemy ship “was preparing to launch against our country,” vowing that the YAF will continue to ban Zionist-linked ships from the Red Sea until the blockade on the Gaza Strip is lifted.

The spokesman alluded to the speech made by Yemeni Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi wherein he warned that any continued US strikes would prompt a “broad and comprehensive response.” Saree announced that the YAF would move forward with implementing retaliation.

US warplanes launched two airstrikes today on a cotton gin in the Zabeid district of al-Hodeidah Governorate, in western Yemen.

Yemeni Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi denounced the latest US airstrikes on Yemen, describing them as a “brutal and unjust aggression” aimed at “supporting the Israeli enemy.”

In a televised speech on Sunday evening, Sayyed al-Houthi stated, “The American enemy has launched a new attack on our country. This is a blatant and oppressive act of aggression, and its primary goal is to provide direct support to the Zionist regime.”

The aggression against Yemen follows the Yemeni Armed Forces’ announcement of the resumption of military action against all Zionist-linked vessels in a designated zone in the bodies of water surrounding Yemen.

A US-UK aggression targeted Yemen, striking the capital Sanaa several times on Saturday following the reinstatement of Yemen’s ban on Zionist ships passing through designated areas.

Several air raids launched by the US-UK coalition targeted a residential neighborhood in the Sha’ub district, north of the capital,

an updated toll showed that nearly 50 civilians were killed or injured in the US-UK aggression on the governorates of Sanaa and Saada. At least 25 civilians were martyred across Yemen and another 23 were injured in the strikes

Hamas has Rebuilt Forces to Over 25,000 Fighters

A group of Zionist Knesset members (MKs) said on 16 March that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) have “restored their military strength” in Gaza and that the occupatiuon military has failed to achieve its war goals amid stalled ceasefire negotiations, Zionist newspaper Walla reported.

“In recent days, we have been informed that the military strength of Hamas and Islamic Jihad has been restored, such that Hamas has over 25,000 and Islamic Jihad has over 5,000 armed terrorists,” stated the Knesset members.

The MKs, including opposition members of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, made the claim in a petition they sent calling for an urgent committee hearing with the participation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and War Minister Israel Katz.

A committee hearing is necessary due to the “failure to achieve the war’s goals and the harm to security and national interests.”

MKs Gadi Eisenkot, Ram Ben Barak, Meir Cohen, Elazar Stern, Moshe Tor Paz, Sharon Nir, and Merv Michaeli signed the petition.

“In the past month, the ‘Israeli’ government has not fulfilled its responsibility as the supreme commander of the IDF, and is not advancing the war goals of returning the kidnapped and destroying Hamas’ military and governmental power,” the petition stated.

The MKs further claimed that Netanyahu and his ministers are acting in violation of war cabinet decisions to “realize the goal of returning the abductees” and to immediately conscript ultra-Orthodox Jewish men studying the Torah in religious schools known as Yeshivas.

Efforts to exchange Zionist captives in Gaza for Palestinians in occupation prisons have stalled in recent weeks, with the regime refusing to move to the next phase of a ceasefire agreement reached with the Palestinian resistance in January.

Late on Saturday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed Zionist negotiators to continue the negotiations based on a proposal by US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff that calls for the “immediate release of 11 living hostages and half of the deceased hostages.”

Earlier, Hamas said it was ready to accept a previous proposal from US envoy Adam Boehler, which called for the release of a living Zionist-US soldier, Edan Alexander, along with the bodies of four other dual-US citizens in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

After Boehler held direct talks with Hamas officials, occupation leaders became angry, and President Donald Trump removed him from his position.

Hamas is seeking a permanent end to the war, a complete Zionist withdrawal from Gaza, the reopening of border crossings for aid, and the release of Palestinian prisoners.

The regime is seeking to extend the first phase until mid-April and insists that any transition to the second phase must include “the total demilitarization” of Gaza.

Despite the existing ceasefire, the Zionist military continues to conduct near-daily air strikes in Gaza.

On Saturday, Zionist airstrikes in the city of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza killed nine people, including aid workers and Palestinian journalists. Four young Palestinian boys were killed by an Israeli drone strike while scavenging for firewood on Friday.
