They broke Insta! 14M likes LOL The antique diamond is hand-cut(!), which is why it won't sparkle as brightly as modern diamonds. It's an EIGHT TO TEN CARAT SOLITAIRE rectangular cushion cut, looks to have a lower profile, can't wait to see more pics. (And how they're going to add a wedding band to this...)

🧵 In the mid-2000s I created a newspaper comic strip series about a sheep and a mole.

The characters were produced as limited-edition vinyl toys and USB lamps in Hong Kong, and sold in designer toy stores around the world.

Posting a comic a day. Here's episode 4…

Amazon Ring Cashes in on Techno-Authoritarianism and Mass Surveillance

‚Ring founder Jamie Siminoff is back at the helmof the surveillance doorbell company, and with him is the surveillance-first-privacy-lastapproach that made Ring one of the most maligned tech devices. Not only is the company reintroducing new versions of old features which would allow police to request footage directly from Ring users, it is also introducing a new feature that would allow police to request live-stream access to people’s home security devices.
This is a bad, bad step for Ring and the broader public.‘

Ring reintroduces video sharing with police

‚Ring has once again started letting police request footage from users. Axon, a law enforcement technology company and maker of Taser, announced in April that it’s partnering with Ring to allow customers to share “relevant video with law enforcement to help solve crimes faster and safeguard neighborhoods,” as spotted earlier by Business Insider….‘

Well, I installed the #Ring Spotlight Cam over the driveway . . .

& it's not working right -- it detects cars but not people but everything else (light, siren & live view) is working properly.

Now I'm seeing all of the car traffic in front of the house but I the cam doesn't have sufficient resolution to show the license plate numbers. Not even on one of my cars parked on the street.🤦‍♂️

Called Ring to try to trouble shoot the cam but their only suggestion was to do a "hard reset" (which I didn't do; I only did a couple of reboots) or to try to "remove & reinstall" the cam, which I'll try to do tomorrow because it's still 100 degrees F outside. 😮

And if it still doesn't work, I'll return it for a replacement which hopefully will work better even if it can't do what I wanted it to do.

Oh well . . . 🤷‍♂️

PS: Installation of the mount on my stucco was going slowly until I remembered that I owned an impact drill with long carbide bits. LOL! 😉

Google are taking over - everything!
I tried to open my Ring app on my phone this morning - nope, "sign in to Google !!"... how? where? why??
Had to get the laptop going to sign in, then go back to the app, whereupon it demanded an "update" downloaded of course from Google.
And inevitably, while signing into Google with a very secure long complicated password, it responded with "incorrect password".
Several other phone apps demanded the same type of update.

How cool is this? Somebody got a picture of me at the march down fifth avenue today! A favorite sign I saw was "They're cashing the checks. They're cashing the dividends."
